Pleasant Park

Pleasant Park is not yet open to the public.

We can't wait to welcome you to Apex's newest park - keep an eye out on this page and the town's social media platforms for an official opening date! In the meantime, please avoid visiting the park, as it's an active construction site.


Pleasant Park is a 92-acre facility that will begin welcoming visitors in late 2023. The initial opening will feature the amenities listed below:

  • 6 multipurpose fields and signature fieldhouse with staff offices, meeting space, concession area, restrooms, and classrooms
  • 4 (lighted) tennis courts, 6 pickleball courts, and 2 basketball courts
  • 1.5 acre Enchanted Forest with nine inclusive play villages: Kingdom in the Clouds, Reverie, Gnome’s Hollow, Marvelous Melody, Discovery Dig, Sticks & Stones (nature play), Trollway Bridge, Reading Nook, & Splashlantis (water play)
  • 2 shelters with restrooms
  • 5k cross country course
  • Maintenance operation building with staff offices and equipment yard
  • Team gathering areas for large events
  • Food truck alley

A future phase of construction (timing to be determined) is planned to include:

  • Grand Lawn (open play area)
  • Large shelter with restrooms
  • Sand volleyball court
  • Expanded cross country course (natural, unpaved) capable of hosting large races
  • 4 baseball / softball fields
  • Additional fieldhouse with office, meeting room, concessions and restrooms
  • Batting cages and warm up areas
  • Maintenance storage building
  • Old US Highway 1 and Friendship Road Improvements
