The Welcome Center is located in The Depot. The Depot, built sometime between 1867 and 1873, is designated as a Wake County landmark. This location marked the highest point on the old Chatham Railroad. An old caboose has been added to the site and serves as a historical museum. Once serving as a working railroad depot station, this building is now home to Town of Apex's Welcome Center.
The Welcome Center offers complimentary magazines, brochures, guides, and maps to those who have relocated to or are visiting Apex. The Welcome Center also has a variety of "The Peak of Good Living" merchandise available for purchase.
